I’ve just taken my latest piece out of the kiln and placed it in my garden. It is the biggest piece I’ve made so far and yet in an outdoor setting it still looks small and not impactful.
It reminds me of a gravestone which is not the look I was aiming for so therefore back to the drawing board. There are some good points. I like how the glaze application has interacted with each other creating a mottled effect. The carving elements which look more torn are really interesting especially now that glaze has been applied. I am particularly liking the ripples along the top of the piece which has been exaggerated by the transparent glaze. For me the glaze is too dark a colour in places. Prefer the blue and amber colours to the sculpture.
