Quick trip to Glasgow

I had a weekend away in Glasgow and decided to stop off at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery. We only had an hour to spare so we had to use our time wisely but was able to look at quite a bit of 3-D work and got inspired by not just ceramics but by other materials as well.

I particularly liked the marble carved face and head aswell as the suspended faces overhead. I do like sculpting heads in my work but I am fairly new to the form and have a lot to learn.

As part of my research project I have to decide what my ceramic form will be and this is proving to be very difficult. I am wanting to incorporate local materials in my work and have had a good initial meeting with a local company who are interested in my research project.

Half the battle with this degree will be narrowing down my research question and what my signature style will be. But there is plenty of time for me to work on that, my first priority is the looming deadline of mid-December for my first assignment!
