At the end of September I started my new journey at UCLAN undertaking my Master of Arts degree in Ceramics. It has definitely been a world wind of excitement, intrigue and in-trepidation over the last two weeks.
At our first practical session, having played with mud for the last 30 years I thought I might know a little bit about clay. It turns out I don’t. As well as learning new things, the session also helped to better understand and consolidate my current practices together with possible explanations of results obtained.
A day trip to Stoke On Trent proved very eventful not least because we became separated from our other students following a police armed response incident! The BCB provided great inspiration and got me to think about what I liked and what I didn’t, to help shape my signature work. A few photos of the event are below showing the diversity of ceramics.
I think I’m going to like and enjoy my next two years here.
